Our Football Pitch LED Lighting Services
At PPG Projects, we take football pitch lighting installation projects through a complete, managed process, so design, delivery, and commissioning all stay aligned from the start.
Custom LED Lighting Design for Football Pitches
No two pitches play or operate the same way, so the lighting should not be treated as standard either. We shape each design around pitch size, usage patterns, and the level of football being played. Our aim is straightforward: correct lighting levels, controlled glare, and no unnecessary energy waste.
Football Floodlight Installation
During installation, accuracy makes all the difference. Our team delivers each LED football lighting installation with careful planning, from setting out pole positions to adjusting beam angles for even coverage. The end result is clear visibility across the pitch for players and spectators, with systems built to handle tough UK conditions.
LED Floodlight Retrofit Solutions
When existing systems start falling behind, we upgrade them to LED without overcomplicating the process or rebuilding more than needed. These retrofits reduce energy use, cut maintenance requirements, and bring lighting performance in line with current standards while keeping disruption low.
Ongoing Maintenance & Support
As football floodlighting specialists UK clubs and facility operators rely on, we focus on lighting systems that are built to perform properly on the pitch and stay efficient in real-world use. We stay involved with scheduled checks and practical servicing to keep everything running as it should. It helps prevent unexpected issues and keeps lighting performance steady across seasons.
Benefits of LED Lighting for Football Pitches
-
Energy Efficiency
LED systems use significantly less power than older lighting setups, which helps clubs cut down their regular electricity bills. -
Long Lifespan
These lights are built to last, often reaching up to 50,000 hours, so replacement and maintenance work is kept to a minimum. -
Improved Visibility
Light is spread more evenly across the pitch, making it easier for players to track the ball and stay confident during play. -
Better Spectator Experience
Clear, consistent lighting ensures fans can follow the match properly from all parts of the ground. -
FA Compliance Ready
Systems are designed to meet FA standards, so they can be used confidently for both training and competitive matches. -
Lower Long-Term Cost
Because they use less energy and require less upkeep, LED systems help reduce total pitch lighting costs over the years.
Football Pitch Floodlight Installation Cost
There’s no single price for football pitch floodlighting installation because every site brings its own challenges. The overall football pitch lighting cost in the UK usually comes down to pitch size, lighting requirements, column height, ground conditions, and how straightforward or complex the installation work is. Larger or higher-spec facilities tend to need more advanced setups to meet the right performance and compliance levels.
LED systems significantly improve long-term cost efficiency. They use far less energy and require less maintenance than older lighting technology, which helps reduce ongoing operating costs noticeably over time. For many clubs, that shifts the decision from a one-off capital spend to something that pays back gradually through efficiency.

Football Pitch Lighting for Different Levels of Play
We cover all types of football facilities with bespoke lighting solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Amateur & Community Football Pitches
Community and amateur pitches need lighting that simply works without driving up costs. We focus on practical systems that keep evening games and training sessions safe and usable. Our goal is clear: even coverage across the pitch with sensible energy use and no unnecessary complexity, so clubs can run reliably within their budgets.
Professional & Semi-Professional Football Pitches
At this level, lighting must meet higher standards. It needs to support competitive matches, clear visibility, and sometimes broadcasting requirements. We design systems that give even light across the pitch, reduce glare, and maintain consistent brightness. Players and spectators always enjoy a comfortable viewing experience with our solutions.
Training & Academy Football Pitches
Training environments are rarely fixed in how they’re used. One session might focus on drills, the next on full-pitch gameplay. Because of that, lighting needs to be adaptable. We build systems that allow easy adjustment of output, so coaches can set the right level of visibility for each session while keeping the whole pitch evenly lit and efficient.
