Grow Up Vertical Farm Phase 1
Project location: Sandwich, CT13 9ND
Project Background Brief:
PPG Projects undertook a challenging project to supply and install an innovative new lighting system for a vertical farm in Kent. The focus was on implementing cutting-edge electrical infrastructure and LED fixtures for first phase of a multiyear vertical farm construction, adhering to the design specifications discussed for first growth cells, the team installed over 5000 LED fixtures in this innovative project. Additionally, our scope included the supply of Cell distribution panels, featuring multiple zones of control to facilitate a new lighting zone control system.
Particular Challenges:
The project posed a distinctive challenge due to the implementation of a unique growing system. The unconventional requirements demanded a thorough understanding of the intricacies involved in creating an optimal lighting environment for agricultural growth.
Time was of the essence in this project, with exceptionally strict timelines to meet. The urgency of the timeline necessitated meticulous planning and precise execution. PPG Projects mobilized resources efficiently, implementing streamlined processes to ensure that the project adhered to the stringent deadlines without compromising on quality.
Special project features:
A standout feature of this project was the deployment of unique assembly methods. Recognizing the distinctive requirements of the agricultural setting, our team devised innovative assembly techniques to ensure the seamless integration of electrical infrastructure and LED fixtures. These methods not only optimized the installation process but also contributed to the overall efficiency of the lighting system.
The successful completion of this project showcases our commitment to embracing innovation in electrical engineering. By addressing the challenges of a unique growing system and adhering to tight timelines, we delivered a state-of-the-art lighting solution.
