Leicester Food Park – LED Replacement
Project location: Leicester
Project Background Brief:
East Midlands Chamber in partnership with The Food & Drink Forum operates the Leicester Food Park. The Food Park provides high quality food manufacturing space with purpose-built units, enabling new and innovative food businesses to start up and grow as well as providing established food businesses with grow on space for their expanding businesses. When opening in 2015, LED Lighting was used within the units but the majority of this had failed. With new tenants imminent into units, PPG Projects were commissioned to replace all LED Batten and LED Emergency lighting with high-quality and lengthy warranty products.
Particular Challenges:
The Food Park is incredibly busy with high demand for units when they become available. With new tenant’s keen to move into the vacated units and a short timescale agreed, PPG Projects scheduled weekend working with the Chamber to ensure timescales could be met and no disruption to business activities occurred.
Special Project Features:
One of the main benefits of LED Lighting is the longevity of life expectancy with zero maintenance requirements, so with the understanding that the previously installed LED Luminaires by an alternative Contractor and Lighting Manufacturer had failed or were failing, PPG Projects identified the need for a high-quality product with a life expectancy to match. With this in mind we worked with BELL Lighting to supply high-quality luminaires equipped with a market leading 7-year parts and 2-year labour warranty, in addition to a 70,000-hour life expectancy.
