Project Background Brief:
During an evening fixture, the club suffered floodlight failure, which caused the match to be abandoned and caused concern in understanding and eliminating the issue so that their future fixtures were not in doubt.
The club advised that problem was related to one of their telescopic/retractable masts failing to extend fully then lowering and they believed this was an Electrical issue, so PPG Projects scheduled a visit to attend and investigate.
Particular Challenges:
Due to the urgent nature of the situation, with the club scheduled to have fixtures imminently after the failure. With this in mind, PPG Projects scheduled an immediate visit to investigate the situation. The masts installed on site are bespoke to one manufacturer and quite rare in the UK, so to identify the problem our engineers carried out a thorough inspection of all the Masts and associated parts and tested them individually to ensure functionality.
We quickly identified that there were issues relating to the air compressor and discovered a split on one hose which we disconnected, cut, and re-made it off. There was another problem where we discovered a hose had blown completely off the air socket at the base of the far mast. This was connected back in and tested. This immediately resolved the problem.
Special Project Features:
Emergency Call Out with rectification within 48 hours of the call. Despite bespoke telescopic retractable masts we were able to quickly resolve the issue.
