Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club Lighting

Project Background Brief:
Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club has three tennis courts, of which two are floodlit. The club approached PPG Projects to upgrade two courts to LED tennis lighting, and for solutions on how to light the third court without disruptive works to the courts themselves.
We created a lighting design that utilised the existing infrastructure to add additional LED tennis luminaires, which would light the third court to a recreational level for increased participation and club nights. The existing planning approval was reviewed, and the lighting scheme was produced so that it complied with the restrictions of this.
This tennis lighting upgrade is a great example of how LED lighting can be used to improve sports facilities. The new lighting system offers a number of benefits, including improved energy efficiency, better light quality, reduced maintenance, increased participation, and minimal disruption.
Working closely with the club, our team ensured the lighting design met all of their requirements. The new LED lighting system is more energy-efficient than the previous system, produces a brighter and more uniform light, and has a longer lifespan.
The LED lighting upgrade was completed without any disruption to the tennis courts. The new luminaires were installed on the existing poles, and the wiring was routed through the existing conduits. This meant that the club was able to benefit from the new lighting system without having to close the courts for any period of time.
